Bento Kangamba Prepares Kabuscorp for the Football Competition
Bento Kangamba, the owner and president of Kabuscorp do Palanca, has expressed his dedication to create the necessary conditions for the club’s return to national football competition. In an interview with the Journal of Angola, Kangamba emphasized that the new leadership is focused on organizing and preparing the team after the recent elections.
Confident in the success of the club’s medium-term investment, Kangamba highlighted their current priorities. They are focusing on organizing Covid-19 tests for their junior players as they plan to compete in the Provincial of Luanda and aim for qualification to the Girabola.
Kangamba stressed the importance of working with young players and benefiting from the experience of the senior players. While the club can rely on good relationships with various clubs abroad to hire players if needed, Kangamba stated that Kabuscorp has no problem finding talent and can rely on their junior players to strengthen the team’s lineup.
Addressing concerns about the club’s ability to compete, Kangamba clarified that there are no impediments to Kabuscorp’s participation. He emphasized that FIFA and FAF did not prohibit the club from competing, but rather certain legal and banking obligations needed to be addressed promptly, which was beyond their control.
Regarding the coaching staff, Kangamba mentioned they are considering multiple scenarios due to the Covid-19 pandemic. They have been working with coach Quim Manuel, who is leading the junior team and laying the foundations for the team’s participation in the qualifying phase. Kangamba assured that this year, Kabuscorp will be in good condition.
To avoid repeating past mistakes, Kangamba stressed the need for a profound change in the club’s management and administrative structure. They are currently organizing the club administratively and have brought in specialized lawyers and a secretary-general to address previous legal issues.
The completion of the training center near the 11 de Novembro Stadium is eagerly anticipated. The facility includes two natural grass fields, one synthetic turf field, a training area, and classrooms to accommodate student-athletes. This training center is expected to help Kabuscorp establish itself as a strong force in Angolan football.
